Neck, Shoulder Pain
& Stiffness
Neck pain is a very common issue. Neck pain, although felt in the neck, can be caused by numerous other spinal problems. Muscles can be strained by poor posture, whether it’s leaning into your computer at work or hunching over your workbench at home. This also includes whiplash which can lead to chronic neck pain if left untreated.
Thoracic Spine / Midback
and Rib Pain.
Upper and middle back pain is commonly caused by overuse, muscle strain, or injury. With the rib cage being attached to this part of the spine and wraps around to the front of the chest. The thoracic spine (or mid back) is a very large part of the spine, with many joints and muscles in this region- all which can be a source of pain.
Lower Back and Hip Pain
Including Sciatica
Any pain in the lower back, buttock, or adjacent leg is referred to as sacroiliac joint syndrome. This is a large nerve that runs from the lower back down the back of each leg. Sacroiliac joint syndrome is often overlooked.
Headaches
A common form of headache is a cervicogenic headache. This is a headache, which originates in the neck but presents as a headache. Cervicogenic, tension and cluster headaches are treated very successfully with chiropractic treatment as chiropractic targets the cause of the pain, not just the pain itself.
Spinal Postural Correction
There are many indicators of poor posture, but some of the more common are hunched shoulders, rounded shoulders, rounded upper back, forward head carriage and arched lower back. Another indicator is back pain. Your chiropractor can help you to maintain and correct your posture through chiropractic adjustments, exercises and recommendations on proper positions during different activities.
Sports Injuries
Chiropractic provides a conservative, drug-free approach to the management and prevention of sports injuries. With adjustments showing an increase of range of motion of restricted joints and assist in returning joints to their normal mobility and functionality. With additional soft tissue techniques used on supportive tissues such as muscles, ligaments and tendons.
